Original Design Critique:

The original two-door Jaguar XJS was not lauded for its aesthetic appeal, and it faced reliability issues that marred its reputation.

The Birth of the ‘Supercat’:

British engineering firm TWR Performance has unveiled the ‘Supercat,’ a radically reimagined version of the Jaguar XJS.

This debut production model, named aptly for its enhanced capabilities, boasts a powerful 600hp V12 engine, a 6-speed manual gearbox, and styling inspired by the world of race cars.

Aggressive Redesign:

The Supercat’s design reflects a departure from the XJS’s understated aesthetics. With input from digital designer Khyzyl Saleem and Porsche modifier Magnus Walker, the Supercat sports a sleek, low-slung silhouette reminiscent of 1980s endurance racers. The addition of carbon fiber bodywork enhances both performance and visual appeal.

Enhanced Performance:

Significant modifications have been made to the Supercat’s chassis, including a dramatic increase in track width and the incorporation of large arches to accommodate aero disc-style wheels.

The front bumper features a massive splitter and hexagon-shaped apertures housing halo-style LED lights, contributing to its aggressive stance.

Innovative Features:

Carbon fiber construction extends to all body panels, ensuring lightweight and durable performance.

At the rear, race car-inspired elements include new brake lights positioned atop a large diffuser and flying buttresses reminiscent of the iconic Jaguar XJR-9. These features culminate in a sizable ducktail spoiler, enhancing both aerodynamics and visual impact.
