Luxury sports car manufacturer Ferrari debuts its latest offerings, the 12Cilindri and the 12Cilindri Spider, catering to enthusiasts of powerful, traditional petrol engines.
Displayed at an event in Miami, these models mark Ferrari’s initial releases for the year, continuing its streak of new launches following five in 2023. Ferrari aims to maintain its appeal to affluent clientele through a swift introduction of fresh models.
While the automotive industry shifts towards electrification, Ferrari has integrated hybrid-electric vehicles into its lineup since 2019. The company is set to unveil its first fully electric vehicle (EV) by the end of 2025. Ferrari reaffirms its commitment to traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) cars despite this transition.
The 12Cilindri and its convertible counterpart, the 12Cilindri Spider, draw inspiration from Ferrari’s iconic grand-tourer (GT) models of the 1950s and 1960s. This design ethos pays homage to the company’s rich heritage.
Ferrari’s signature 12-cylinder petrol engine powers both models, but they also boast a mid-front-mounted V12 engine delivering 830 horsepower. This powertrain propels the vehicles to a top speed exceeding 340 kilometers (210 miles per hour).
The 12Cilindri and 12Cilindri Spider, priced at 395,000 euros ($422,000) and 435,000 euros, respectively, in Italy, occupy the medium-high end of Ferrari’s price spectrum. Initial deliveries are slated for the final quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, respectively, with a European focus.
Ferrari outlines ambitions for 15 new models between 2023 and 2026, including its inaugural fully electric offering. This expansive roadmap underscores Ferrari’s commitment to innovation and continued relevance in the luxury automotive market.
