Apple has revealed plans for a significant upgrade to two buildings acquired in 2022, located opposite its existing offices in Singapore. 

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, expressed pride in the connection the company has built with Singapore’s vibrant community, describing the city-state as “truly a one-of-a-kind place.”

Long-standing Presence in Singapore

Apple’s presence in Singapore dates back to 1981 when it opened its first facility with a focus on the Apple II personal computer. 

Over the years, the company has expanded significantly, currently employing over 3,600 people in the city-state. Singapore serves as an operations center for Apple in the region, highlighting its strategic importance to the company’s global operations.

Upcoming Meetings

As part of his Southeast Asia tour, Tim Cook is scheduled to meet with Singapore’s prime minister-designate Lawrence Wong and incumbent leader Lee Hsien Loong. These meetings underscore Apple’s commitment to engaging with key stakeholders and fostering relationships in the region.
